A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Employment lawyer to join the legal team of a well-known hotel group. This is an exciting, fast paced business and it will be a challenging role to take on with plenty of scope for growth and development. Reporting into the Head of Employment responsibilities will include advising human resources departments and operating business managers on day-to-day legal concerns and consequences; participating in the development of legally sound policies and programs in all areas of labor and employment law, including salary matters, discipline, counselling and termination, all aspects of laws regarding discrimination, wrongful and unfair termination; advising on the Company's relationship with Works Councils and/or Trade Unions across EMEA; Company-wide employment issues including relating to hotel management agreements, operational issues and Compliance/Data Privacy; managing outside counsel in handling individual claimant employment litigation; and educating on trends and legal actions which may affect the workplace through written materials or training seminars.
To be successful in this role, you must have a strong academic background and trained at a highly regarded law firm with 5+ years' experience. Previous or current in-house experience will be beneficial. You will have the ability to work autonomously, think strategically and creatively and communicate clearly and precisely. You must be enthusiastic, proactive, enjoy working hard and being challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. You will be able to work in a team environment and become an integral part of the business.
