SENIOR LEGAL COUNSEL - PRODUCTS/TECH LAWYER - GLOBAL DATA COMPANY
Global data company based in West London has an outstanding position for a Senior Legal Counsel to join their growing legal team, supporting the business on the creation and development of new tech products.
Reporting to the Legal Director, you will provide support certain regions within EMEA. As Senior Legal Counsel, you will support and advise the business on a variety of projects critical to the company's success. You will help the business drive forward, whilst effectively managing risk along the way and you will provide advice that that demonstrates technical excellence, pragmatism and strong commercial acumen.
In this role you will;
Be the day to day, go-to point of contact in Legal for the Solutions and Product teams in
building and refining software products, media and consultancy services and building and
managing our strategic partnerships.
Pro-actively identify material legal and compliance risks and recommend/implement changes
to mitigate/manage these risks appropriately using strong judgement and commercial acumen
Implement, champion, refine, and iterate a product and partnership risk prioritisation and
Support the privacy risk management framework and related business initiatives
Draft and advise on all legal issues the our software product end user documentation e.g.
privacy notices, end user terms and conditions
Lead and negotiate deals with software and other partners to distribute our products and
To be considered for this role you must have;
Experience managing legal issues in technology implementation / transformation projects
Knowledge of legal and practical issues in software application and consulting sales
Management of external legal counsel, including associated budgets
Board-level stakeholder management
Policy, standards and controls creation and management - intermediate to advanced
Very strong written and oral communication skills
Extensive technology, commercial contracts, and end user documents drafting and negotiating
Strong understanding of technology employment issues including TUPE, global privacy issues, global IP protection and EU or US anti-trust competition law
A strong background gained in a reputable law firm, and ideally relevant in-house experience (although this is not essential)
